Doug Paulding

I graduated in 1980 from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a bachelor’s degree.  I started Eager Beaver Tree Service in Westchester and Fairfield Counties in 1977 while still in school.  After graduation, I enhanced my arborist credentials by attending many multi-day seminars and by acquiring and reading a significant tree related library. After receiving arborist certifications from New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and the International Society of Arboriculture I began writing regular tree related columns in the Gardener’s Gazette and the Patent Trader, Northern Westchester’s largest paper.  Additionally, I have been quoted several times in the New York Times about local tree issues. I have also worked as a tree consultant to insurance companies.

In my spare time I am a PSIA certified ski instructor and I coach alpine skiing at Killington, Vermont.  I also review wines and spirits, and write for Sante magazine, a food and beverage magazine for industry professionals.  I enjoy photography as well and all the photos on this site are images I have captured over the years.
